JJ Spa Plus (Korean Family Detoxifying “Spa”) – Coquitlam, BC

A friend and I went recently to JJ Spa Plus, the first Korean family “spa” in Canada, according to their website.  It is totally different than a Western spa.  Don’t expect a fancy spa – this is very basic.  I sense the theme is about detoxing and relaxation.  They have various rooms with different purposes.

1.  Salt Room – This room has mineral salt which has antiobiotic properties and helps detoxify and helps body recover from fatigue. Boosts body’s resistance and purifies the blood. They claim it “warms up the bones to prevent osteoporosis.”  The favourite room of my friend and I.  I felt like I was on a “salt beach” – it was so nicely warm.

2.  Charcoal Room – Antioxidant, restorative, good for circulation and detoxing, reduces stress.

3.  Yellow Earth Room – Infrared ray and yellow soil combine to detox, release pain, stress, fatigue, great for skin and relaxes the mind.

4.  Dry Sauna

5. Steam Sauna

6. Hot Tub and jacuzzi

They also offer (for an additional fee) massage and body scrubs.

This wonderful experience is only $15 admission and you can stay as long as you want.  It felt like I was on a holiday…..  Highly recommended – just don’t expect anything fancy!

If you want a hand with further detoxification, consider a lymphatic drainage detox massage.  See Promotions in my website or send me an email.
